For the second year in a row, we have a contender for the Award of the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby - Preakness - Belmont Stakes series, which is the Most Coveted thoroughbred series in horseracing! Last year it was California Chrome. This year, it is American Pharoah [their spelling]. The Belmont Stakes is called the "Test of Champions," because it is so hard for a horse to sweep all three races. It hasn't been done since 1978, when Affirmed came off the winner. Let us look at what the stars say and what the (astrological) personalities of the horses with their trainers might be.
I must repeat the usual disclaimer about trying to use astrology to predict horserace winners. We do not know the hour that the horses were born — or even exactly where they were born — so we cannot do the very key rising signs and houses of the horses. In addition there are a lot of other beings' charts involved, the jockies, the trainers, and the owners. Enormous, composite charts would have to be done in order to do a more accurate reading — an impossible task! This time, I will try to add the trainers into the calculations, but I must point out that we do not know their birth hours either, so we cannot cast their true charts.
This Saturday, the Moon will be in Aquarius and the Sun, of course, has moved into Gemini since the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. This is a Harmonious trine (120-degree configuration) in Air. (The Air signs are Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra.)
To review, beside themselves, the Fire signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, are compatible with the Air signs and vice-versa. The Earth signs, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, besides themselves, are compatible with the Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, and vice-versa.
Not only that, Mercury, in my opinion, rules horseracing, and he is found in home territory Gemini for this race! Let me also note that Mercury in Gemini and Lucky Jupiter in Leo make a Very Nice angle at 4:45 PM EDT, not long before the Belmont begins.
This looks awfully good for American Pharoah, who of course, has his Sun in Aquarius and Moon in Gemini! (See the table below.)
On the other hand, you could make an argument on this basis for just about every other of the horse in the race, excepting perhaps Mubtaahij, Madefromlucky, and perhaps Frosted. So, let us check out the possible compatibility of the horses with their trainers.
Last time, for the Preakness stakes, I examined the potential compatibility of the contenders with their jockeys, using the Air-Fire and Earth-Water elemental compatibilities reviewed above. This worked out really well in the case of American Pharoah and jockey Victor Espinoza, but was not much of a predictor for the second and third places.
This time, I want to consider the factor of the astrological compatibility of the horses and their trainers. (See the trainer's astrological data in the table below.)
Well! Lo and behold, it does not look like American Pharoah and Bob Baffert are very compatible. American Pharaoh shows Air-Air and Mr. Baffert shows Earth-Earth (or maybe Earth-Fire). How can this be?
The key here, I think, is that we do not know the hours that the horses were born and thus do not know their Rising sign — which can just as important, if not more, than their Sun signs.
So let me advance a speculation is American Pharoah is a Cancer-rising. Why do I say that? It is reported that this fellow is really quite shy, even diffident — reluctant to be in the limelight — and yet he is a winner. To me this describes the personality of a Cancer or a Pisces (plus, American Pharoah liked racing in the rain at the Preakness, like a good Water sign would). But because Bob Baffert is a Capricorn, I think that American Pharoah must be a Cancer rising in order for the compatibility of the animal and the trainer to be exhibited. Case closed. It seems locked in for American Pharoah to me!
(As an extra-added filip, American Pharoah's owner [or past owner, but I won't get into that], Ahmed Zayat is a Virgo, born August 31, 1962. And thus American Pharoah's Rising Sign falls in Mr. Zayat's 11th House of Hopes and Wishes. The Cherry on the Cake . . . or the Third Jewel in the Crown, I say!)
Now if you like the idea of horse-trainer compatibility, you can make the argument that Madefromlucky and Todd Pletcher are quite matched, if the horse is a Pisces-Pisces. Frosted and Kiaran McLaughlin look awfully good together too, if we posit that the animal is Taurus-Aries.
Personally, I am going to discount the horse-trainer compatibility question and pick 1 - American Pharoah and 2 - Frosted or Materiality. The 4th and 5th slots, for me, might go to Frammento and Madefromlucky.
How do you see it? Whatever the outcome, I hope you have fun, and do not bet too much, on this Thrilling, Thrilling Day!!

By the way, if you like Numerology, today is a Uranus day, since the Moon is in Aquarius and his numbers are 11 or 22, or 2 and 4. In addition, I think Mercury rules horseracing. Its number is 5. Thus, if you think this works, posts 2, 4, or 5 may be favored.
