We have the bonus of the results from the Kentucky Derby to narrow down what was important in Always Dreaming’s win. Clearly, his Fortuna trine (harmonious 120-degreee link) with his Sun was very important to his winning the race! I believe the sharp Mars-Uranus aspect later in the day set off the Fortuna-square Uranus aspect . . . .
But, and this is a Big But, it also shows that we do not have all the information we need for pinpointing who will win. Because, what about State of Honor? He had the same birthday as Always Dreaming, and he went way off on a tangent!
This shows that we do not have all of the essential information we need. We do not know the hour the horses were born — or really exactly where — key data for reading a chart. This is a huge caveat in using this horse astrology to forecast who will win a race.
What is happening the day of the race can make the difference in who wins or loses. The Moon will be in Pisces on the 20th, but the extraordinary thing is that the Sun will move into Gemini at 4:31 PM EDT — a couple of hours before the race! It is highly unusual for the Preakness to be run in Gemini time — usually the Sun is still in Taurus.
I think this out-of-the ordinary event will favor the Aquarius and Aries horses [see the chart below], whose Suns will be at 120- and 60-degree angles to the transiting Sun.
Can we narrow this down some more? Yes, I think we can. We have some new contenders in the Preakness — “new shooters,” as they are called — who could represent some fantastic long shots for winning the second race in the Triple Crown.
Multiplier is one of them. His natal chart shows Mercury conjunct his Sun and Mars opposite his Uranus. (Mercury, I believe, rules horse-racing.) This should give him a lot of Get Up and Go! Then, in his progressed chart [too technical to get into here], Mars is still opposite his Uranus. Quite an ignition!
Then there is Term of Art, for whom transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct his natal Sun. This is real firepower! Not only that, progressed Fortuna is square his Mercury-Uranus midpoint AND transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct his progressed Mercury!
Not only that, his Moon is at 1 degree Sagittarius. It may be that the Gemini Sun coming to oppose his Moon could Really Be Explosive!
So, here is my conclusion: Although Always Dreaming’s Fortuna trine Sun will still be operative for the Preakness, I am going to go with 1 – Term of Art and 2 – Multiplier. They have very long odds against them, so if this works, it could be Big Winnings!
What are your thoughts? See the data in the table below and Make Your Bets (if that is what you do)!
But please, if you do bet, remember to not wager more than $8-10 a day! Of course, you can only win if it's "Your Lucky Times"SM! Good luck!!
Yours in Good Fortune,
