May 1, 2010 Horse Astrology
Kentucky Derby Day, at last! And what better place for the Moon than Sagittarius, the sign of the Centaur, half man and half horse! I promised to look at the horses’ astrology to predict who might win this all-important race for three-year-olds at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Post time is about 6:24 EDT.
Now, remember this is for Entertainment Purposes Only, so don’t go overboard! However, it is remarkable that 3 pairs of horses share the same birthday. Line of David and Mission Impazible were both born on March 2, 2007, Backtalk and Sidney’s Candy were both born on January 27, 2007, and American Lion and Dean’s Kitten were both born on February 2, 2007. (See the data below.) What are the chances of that? you may well ask. It seems pretty high odds to me. We can’t figure out exactly what their horoscopes are because we don’t have their birth hours and so can’t compute their rising signs.
Also interesting is that it is Stately Victor’s birthday today. He was born on May 1, 2007. His Solar Return should give him a Big Boost! Favorite Lookin At Lucky is the youngest horse in the field. Born May 27, 2007, he is not yet 3. But the rules of horse racing turn all of last year’s 2-year-olds to 3 years of age on January 1, and the Kentucky Derby is limited to 3-year-olds, male or female. Filly contenders are unusual, but not unknown in the Run for the Roses. Remember when Eight Belles won 2nd 2 years ago?
This year Devil May Care represents the distaff side of the race. She is the only female horse entered this year. Her birthday is May 7, 2007, making her not quite 3. If you want to use the angle of the fairer sex, She’s Your Gal!
Let’s take a closer look at Lookin At Lucky, a Gemini. He was born when the Moon was in Libra, so his decisions may get easily out of balance. His Number 1 post might seem to give him a Nice Numerological Choice. But bet a horse while his Ruler, Mercury, is retrograde (appearing to go backwards in the sky)? I don’t think so.
Let’s try the angle of the Eclipses at birth. In 2007, March 3, March 19, August 28, opposite February 28, and September 11, opposite March 11. The March 3rd date may explain why Line of David and Mission Impazible are making such a great showing. Tremendous, an eclipse on the day after they were born!
The August 28th date illuminates Conveyance, born February 28, 2007. When he was 6 months old, the eclipse put the Sun opposite his Sun and the Moon on his Sun! He is said to be the fastest horse of the pack. The fastest horses don’t necessarily win, but set the pace and often fade away at the finish. No question he is going to be right up there, though!
The March 19 eclipse was pretty close to Super Saver’s March 18, 2007, foal date. Not only that Lucky Jupiter, ruler of today’s Moon, is currently at about 23 degrees of Pisces, not too far away from Super Saver’s 27 degrees Pisces Sun (Moon also in Pisces, of course). And guess what? Shocking Uranus is at 28 degrees Pisces, to which Jupiter is headed for a conjunction at 0 degrees Aries on June 7.
Possibly a rainy day at Churchill Downs, favoring the Fish (Pisces) and my choice, astrologically, is Super Saver!!!
Please remember to bet responsibly – and this is for Fun Only! Good luck!!
Yours in Good Fortune,
Lucky Star
